APPROACH AND METHOD
Pre-Primary education is an important stage which lays the foundation for lifelong learning and holistic development. It serves as the starting stage for formal education.
The books are child centred. They follow play way and activity method. Each book has resource bank of planned and purposeful (indoor and outdoor) activities. The approach and method has been planned and designed for systematic, natural and gradual development of student’s skills for observation, recognition and identification, eye-hand co-ordination, co ntrolling muscle movements, free-hand drawing, methodical writing, classification, comparison and analytical approach towards the problems.
This approach and method facilitates gross motor, fine motor, pre-reading, pre-writing, linguistic and cognitive skills. They also develop certain values and attitude .The former refers to the standards of human behaviour and moral judgement while the later is essential for personal qualities in dealing with people and situations. For example courtesy, self discipline, perseverance, respect and responsibility are positive values and attitude. To enhance the teaching skills of teacher various teaching aids are used like smart board, flash cards, charts. Students learn better in outdoor environment. To fulfil this learning and to give them hands on experience certain activities are planned for them like gardening, road safety training and traffic rules education activity is planned. Outdoor play equipments support their physical growth and eventually their mental health. Different events gives them fun filled experience and a stage to showcase their talent.
Interest is the driving force for learning and these integrated methods of learning makes learning interesting.
